Before you use anything

Using these products safely

Three formats, three different things to be careful about. A pressurised can, an open flame, and a very strong adhesive. What follows is taken from the packs.

A window being opened in a Nigerian home, the first step before spraying a room.

If something goes wrong

Eyes
Wash immediately with plenty of clean water. If irritation or burning persists, see a doctor.
Skin
Wash immediately with plenty of water. Wash hands after any use.
Inhalation
Move into fresh air. If breathing is uncomfortable, seek medical help.
Swallowed
Seek medical help immediately and take the pack with you. The TOPRANK pack names Atropine as the antidote. That is information for a medical professional, not something to act on yourself.

In an emergency, call a doctor or go to the nearest hospital. Take the pack with you so the label can be read.

Incense sticks

  • Avoid skin and eye contact.
  • Wash your hands after use.
  • Keep away from the reach of children.
  • Make sure ashes fall on fireproof surfaces.
  • Stand the stick on a stable, non-flammable surface, and never leave it burning unattended.

Glue traps

  • For indoor use. Place the board flat against the wall along the route rodents already run, not in open floor.
  • Keep boards away from children and pets. The glue is strong by design.
  • Handle a used board with a bag or gloves, seal it, and dispose of it with household waste.
  • Check boards daily. Leaving a trapped animal is neither humane nor hygienic.

Storage and disposal

Storing

Keep everything out of reach of children. Store aerosols somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight and away from any heat above 50 degrees C.

Disposing of an aerosol

Do not pierce or burn the container, even when it is empty. It stays pressurised.

Disposing of a glue board

Bag it, seal it, and put it out with household waste. Do not reuse a board.

Ash from incense

Let it fall onto a fireproof surface and make sure the stick has burned out completely before you leave it.
