Accessibility
What we are aiming for, what is already true, and what is not fixed yet.
The standard we hold this site to
WCAG 2.2 at level AA. That is the target for every page, and it is checked as pages are built rather than audited once at the end.
What that means in practice
- Every page works from the keyboard alone, and the focus outline is always visible.
- The site works without JavaScript. Nothing essential is behind a script, including the solution finder, which renders every combination on the server.
- Body text is never smaller than 16px, and the reading column is held to a comfortable measure.
- Colour is never the only way information is carried.
- Motion respects your reduced-motion setting: if your device asks for less movement, the animations stop rather than soften.
- Tap targets are 44px unless there is a stated reason otherwise, and they are verified by hit-testing rather than by measuring a box.
- Images carry meaningful alternative text describing what is in them, not the filename.
What is not right yet
Listing these is more useful than claiming the site is finished.
- Photographs are missing in places. Pest identification pictures and the article photographs have not been supplied yet, so those pages show a labelled placeholder. The alternative text is already written and will apply the moment the picture arrives.
- The carousel indicator dots are about 23px, not 44px. They sit in a strip too shallow to grow into. WCAG allows this where an equivalent control meets the size requirement, and the previous and next controls are considerably larger than the minimum.
- Product leaflets are not published. When they are, they will be tagged PDFs with real text rather than scanned images.
- The site has not yet been tested with a screen reader end to end. That test happens before launch, and this page will be updated with what it finds.
If something on this site does not work for you
Tell us and we will fix it. Call +234 813 111 2348 or +234 909 602 2577, or write to 4 Georges Street By Port Harcourt Road, Aba, Abia State, Nigeria.
It helps if you can say which page it was and what you were trying to do, but do not let a missing detail stop you from getting in touch. We would rather hear about it roughly than not at all.
We aim to respond within two working days.
